      Haven’t been in space yet, but Astronauts have at times encountered new phenomena. Scientists do eventually get to interpret them, but originally they might seem unfathomable and strange. One such phenomenon is the “flashes” that Astronauts see while in space with their eyes shut. Today we believe that this is due to radiation passing through their optical nerves – it does not occur on the Earth because our atmosphere deflects radiation.
