  “Classic” one! I think they use a negative pressure hose which sucks the content. They face similar problems with anything hygienic, for example it’s hard to wash your face in space as the water doesn’t really go down the sink afterwards. For that reason, Astronauts only use wet clothes to clean up their body.

  As Adrian mentioned, because the number 2 is not going down naturally, we use air flow to direct feaces the correct way. Number 2s are vacuumed and stored, all liquid waste is blown into space.
