      Hi! If you want to go as a space tourist Space Adventures offers a package for about a week in orbit for about 52 Million US Dollars. This price is probably pretty close also to the price of putting a space agency astronaut in orbit and bringing them back. But typically a NASA/ESA Astronaut will stay on-board for at least 5months!

      Astronauts time in orbit is so precious (thousands of pounds for every 5mins) that we try to avoid wasting as much as possible the crews time when working with them. Every minute literally counts!

      I would go for free 😉

      As Simon says it’s pretty expensive. However I think what we learn from each space mission is worth much more in scientific progress than it’s monetary value.
