Hi Jeswin! Going in space, it is possible to observe the stars without the disturbance of the Earth atmosphere. This allowed to see some stars and galaxies that were not visible before!

But what has changed most in my opinion, is the understanding of Earth itself: when you look back to it from space, you realize how small and fragile that is compared to the immensity of cosmos, you see that there are no borders drawn on it, that we are all one single race living on this tiny blue dot and therefore we should be living and working together in peace, because that’s in the interest of all of us!

      Hey Jeswin,

Although I haven’t been to space myself we recently had a video call from Concordia to the ISS with Astro Samantha. She kindly showed us around the ISS and through the window!

It was amazing to see real time the earth from space in this way. I guess the main thing I felt was the feeling that rather than having a nationality, and being British from Britain, I felt I was instead a human from Earth! Suddenly boarders and divisions didn’t feel to matter so much and the importance of working together as an international community felt much more important!!

It was also beautiful, we have to look after Earth so people can enjoy looking at it like we do in the future!
