Question: Having lived in Antarctica, do you reckon living in space would be any more challenging for you?

Hey, SHS 10C! It’s Adrianos, Beth’s predecessor from Greece who is filling in for her today due to connectivity problems in Antarctica. Having lived for 1 year on the ice myself i would say that working in a space analogue (like Concordia) tests your abilities in many ways, but space itself would still be different. Your question is actually something i often think about (what would be the same, what easier and what harder if i had spent 2014 on the ISS instead of Antarctica?). So there are definitely more challenges in space (example: a broken window won’t kill you in Antarctica, but a hole on your spaceship would deprive you of oxygen in space!) and yet space analogues help us greatly to better understand how crews live and work in space and to train future astronauts.
