Not in Antarctica as they live at the North Pole, not the South. I have seen one once though when I was working in Greenland before coming here! Amazing animals!!
Good morning! This is Adrianos from Greece, I am Beth’s predecessor as a research doctor for the European Space Agency in Antarctica and I am filling in for her today due to connectivity problems over there.
Interestingly enough, polar bears only appear on one pole of the Earth, the North Pole! Our research Station lies in Antarctica, near the South Pole, where no polar bear exists. At our location, in the heart of Antarctica, there are no animals at all, no birds or plants either. It is so cold that they cannot survive. But if you move a bit towards the coast of Antarctica, you can see penguins and that’s quite a marvel. So if you ever visit Antarctica, don’t be disappointed for missing the polar bears, observing the penguins is just as nice!
