Question: does it get lonely not seeing your friends in America or England?

Sometimes it can feel like a long way from home here (and I do miss friends and family!). The isolation is definitely one of the biggest challenges of living here (and I believe will also be for astronauts during long duration spaceflight missions). However we have a really great crew here and they have become close friends for me now. It’s also surprising how quickly the year has gone and it won’t be long until I see them again. Also one of my closest friends, Alice, is coming out to New Zealand to meet me on my return and we are going to go travelling there for a few weeks which will be great.
