Yes – I even applied to be an astronaut in 2008, which was the same time that Tim Peake applied (and was selected). I didn’t think my chance of being selected was very good, but you have to try!

From Simon: Ever since I was 8 I wanted to be an Astronaut. I also applied like Jon in 2008 but unfortunately didnt make it either… but never say never! Although I am not an Astronaut, being a Columbus Flight Director is pretty cool. We get to talk and work with the astronauts in space almost everyday. For me that is almost as good as being an astronaut!
