1 Question: Why do the foot prints on the moon stay there Keywords: footprint, moon Asked by space girl 11 to Andrea, Charlie 🚀, Col Op, Kirsty, Vinita on 14 Jun 2016.
Kirsty Lindsay answered on 14 Jun 2016:
There is no wind or water to wash them away, so they will stay as they are for a very long time. If a meteorite hit the area they would get destroyed, but otherwise they are more or less safe.
Andrea Boyd answered on 14 Jun 2016:
There’s no atmosphere, no volcanoes, no moving water and no erosion to move the lunar dust so it stays in the shape of the footprints.
