• Question: why do people wear space suits in space

      Hi Kieran,

      Astronaut wear spacesuits to protect them from the harshness of space.

      There is no air to breathe and it can get very cold/hot without protection. Space suits are filled with air to breathe and this is what keeps astronauts alive during a space walk.

      But mostly it’s to protect them from the vacuum/ cold/ radiation
