  Totally depends what project – for the entire ISS project it cost about £0.80 per person in Europe (see /touchdown-zone/2016/06/14/what-would-you-say-to-people-who-think-were-wasting-money-on-the-iss/)
  
  For simple individual space plans like a cubesat just buy the cheap parts of the shelf, built it in a week and chuck it up on piggyback launch 🙂
