Drinking is done from pouches and with a straw but there are some engineers looking at how to create a space cup.
This is actually quite a challenge as you canβt tip the cup to pour out the liquid. However, water molecules are cohesive and this means they tend to stick together so engineers can use this property to design a special cup to allow astronauts to enjoy a proper cuppa in a proper cup! π¬π§π
Charles is right, usually you drink using straws. But when Samantha Christoforetti, being Italian, went to ISS, she had special designed espresso cups (for the espresso machine called ISSpresso π ), which used the cohesive forces Charles mentioned to let crew dring espresso from actual cups instead of straws.
