      It’s pretty challenging because it takes a long time- 3 years after at least 4 years at uni.

      To be awarded a PhD you have to write a thesis for 45,000 word proving you have something new to add to your field and have an exam with the experts in your field- in person answering questions about your experiments, this is called a Viva.
