• Question: does it change temperature inside a rocket at different times of day or night?

      Inside a rocket…. it depends which part. If it’s a crew rocket, the part where humans are is temperature controlled with good air conditioning so it doesn’t change. The other parts – yep. They change a lot so the material has to withstand a wide range of temperatures. Or there has to be active cooling/heating systems.

      The Challenger space shuttle blew up because it was too cold and the material wasn’t good enough. NASA should have waited until the weather was better.
