• Question: do you have to get vaccinations before going to space?

      Nope, not for space itself because there is nothing there to catch.

      You might need to have vaccines before flight for when you land, in case you accidentally landed in a jungle for example.

      Had not thought about it!

      I asked the astronauts this and they said they didn’t need any special vaccinations but you do have to be up to date with all your normal ones plus have the required ones for Russia/Japan/Kazakhstan for training and launch. No extras on top of that.

      Everyone going into quarantine with the astronauts has to have all their normal vaccinations up to date also.
