      Oh, that’s quite complex. First of all (like in every emergency case) the astronauts would gather, perform a head-count and warn each other. Gathering Point is Chosen in a way that the access to the rescue vehicles, the Soyuz spacecrafts, is not blocked by the fire. Then they would evaluate the quality of the air and decide whether to immediately evacuate or whether to fight the fire. In the latter case they have a well-defined strategy how to locate the fire, then extinguish it (sometimes as simple as removing the electrical power, sometimes a fire extinguisher is needed), isolate the affected modules – and then calm down and discuss how to proceed. In all steps we as Flight Controllers are assisting, but the astronauts are trained to also handle a fire alone, should the Connection to “planet Earth” be affected…
