I would say there have been many people that have helped. My supervisor here at King’s helped me with some applications and helped to raise my self confidence, meaning I felt more able to apply for my PhD. But my family and friends have helped by being very supportive and telling me that I can achieve what I want to!
It’s taken the support of family, friends, teachers, and mentors. They’ve all helped me build up the technical skills and confidence over the years to get to where I am now.
A lot of people – friends, family and teachers. I also have an awesome mentor out at the astronaut centre who has been a BIG help. It helps to get to know people who already work in an area to learn how to get work there yourself 🙂
I guess I owe my knowledge that I have now – and the jobs it lets me do – to the teachers and professors who taught me what I know, and to my family and society for giving me an education even though I frequently didn’t like getting it at the time!
