  You either need to train to be a pilot or you need a degree in science, maths or engineering. During astronaut candidate training, they’ll get a lot of survival, star navigation, and other training, and information on how to use systems in space.

Well first you need to be able to fly a jet plane.

  Hi Neive! Actually, the really good news is that you don’t have to be a pilot or know how to fly to become an astronaut! They also need scientists and engineers to help out with studies in space.
