If you are in the sun then it can get very hot, but in the shade it gets really cold. Colder than where Alex is!! Spaceships often spin so they put one side in the sun at a time so overall the whole spaceship stays at a nice temperature 🙂
Exactly as Andrew says. You know if you touch a car or something metal that has been out in the sun for a bit on a hot day? And how it is really hot? It’s the same in space – everything that the sun touches gets really hot. But everything in the shade gets super cold.
