Good question actually… I am not sure that I saw it like that. I don’t think I saw it as having to “cope” because it was clearly something I enjoyed. I think because I enjoyed (and still do enjoy) learning I just saw it as one of those things that took a look of work. I think in order for me to feel like I was “coping” it would have meant I was doing something I didn’t like. I guess that is why I chose to continue for so long; something kept pulling me back! Plus I knew it would set me in good stead for being a scientist.
But in general, if you want advice, I would say choose subjects you really enjoy – then you will feel you don’t have to “cope” as much! Secondly, take breaks!!! Everyone says it but not many people do it – your brain will not function if you do not give it breathers. And don’t cram… prepare in advance always, for whatever it is, whether it be exams or coursework.
Julia’s advice is great. I just want to emphasize – take care of yourself. Don’t stay up all night cramming – your brain just won’t work right. Eat well, sleep well, don’t put off studying/assignments or deadlines will sneak up on you, and ask for help when you need it.
